Multiple OS
Learn which Operating Systems you'll be able to run on your server.
An Operating System is the software which communicates with the hardware of a computer system and is the intermediary between all the applications and the hardware, including peripherals such as a printer, a computer mouse or a keyboard. When you run an application, it transfers requests to the OS using an API (Application Program Interface) and the communication is done via a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI). Just like a personal computer, web hosting servers also use an Operating System that acts as a host for any software installed on them, which includes script applications or server-side software such as a flash server, a VOIP server, etc. A virtual machine can be set up on a physical one, so you'll be able to install a guest OS on it and have a different system environment compared to the physical server host OS.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
We provide as many as three different Linux distributions for the Operating System of our
VPS servers - Debian, CentOS and Ubuntu. These are among the most stable and reliable OSs available and we provide all 3 instead of just 1 because we realize that you may want to install some software with specific requirements regarding the Operating System it shall run on. The latter is because each of the three Operating Systems has a huge support community behind it and there are various software programs you can install on the server. Your OS choice will also determine what hosting Control Panel can be installed on the VPS if you wish to use one and for that reason we offer multiple Control Panels as well. If you ever decide that you want a different OS, our technical support can quickly wipe the existing one and set up the one that you need. In addition, we offer an optional service to have the OS on your VPS updated weekly.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
The
dedicated server solutions that we offer come with as many as three different Operating Systems to select from. They are all Linux distributions - Ubuntu, CentOS and Debian, and not only do they have no license charges, but they are also considered to be among the most dependable and risk-free OSs. We offer three different ones because each one of them is supported by a separate community. The packages that you can add on your web server are different and this may matter in case you want to install some piece of software with specific requirements about the hosting environment. In this light, the hosting Control Panel that you can select for the dedicated server also depends on the OS that you'll choose. You can select any of the three Operating Systems during the order process, however if necessary, we can always install the server once again with another one upon your request. As an optional service that you can add to the package at any moment, we can update the OS on a regular basis to keep it as secure as possible.
